Summary of Class

Coming into this class not knowing much but the basic technology needed to write papers and check my email, I found the class very informative. The most useful tools for educating students in a class room environment were the smartboard and the webquests. Both technologies can assist students on mutliple levels of bloom's taxonomy. The Webquests allow students to gain basic knowledge of a topic and then take that information and analyze it in a communinty(classrrom)/group setting. Webquests also often present a question or problem that needs to be addressed, which calls for students to use their problem solving skills. To reach the answer students must apply what they have learned through the webquest to their original knowledge of the topic. Webquests allow a lot of flexability for the instructors as well. All that is needed is a computer and the internet to formulate a webquest.On the other hand, smartboards are very expensive and not all schools will have the finances to provide classrooms with them. The most useful element of a smartboard when looking at bloom's taxonmoy is the communitive environment it provides. The smartboard is a great way for the whole class to be involved in anyalzing information. Overall, combing all of the technolgies that we learned about of the course of the class would make for a very diverse educational experience. Not all students learn in the same way and by combining several different technogilies you are more likely to accomodate more students learning styles.
